Review of MTH RailKing 2-8-0
I purchased the MTH RailKing 2-8-0 a couple on months ago now it arrived and had a problem with the sound board witch MTH was very helpful in fixing and since then I've had only one problem with it... I don't get to run any other locomotives this engine is such a nice runner that it is always on my layout it produces heaps of smoke so much in fact that other people in the house have at times complained about the amount of smoke. This engine retails for $229.95 and is excellent value the engine is solidly built and runs like a dream.
Since this engine runs so nice I'm no longer going to purchase TMCC locomotives for an equivalent locomotive with TMCC you look at paying $350 thats over $100 more than the MTH locomotive witch has more features. If you are looking for a locomotive with digital sound to add to your collection I defiantly recommend the MTH 2-8-0 with Protosounds 2.0. Another great feature of this locomotive is that when you have the DCS system set up you can upgrade your locomotive from your computer the MTH website has the upgrades that you can download from their website for free. Overall this is a state of the art piece of technology and anything with this much technology has got to be good.
