Rebuilds
Here are some photos of some models I rebuilt this week with some details as well.
Above is a American Flyer S gauge tank wagon that I've put Marx trucks on. It runs great and looks good next to my Marx 'cities services' tank wagon. The conversion was simple it was just a matter of removing the old trucks and using a nut and bolt to attach the Marx trucks.
I want to have a whole train of tank cars and have another AF tank car that will receive the same treatment.
Above is a size comparison of the Marx and AF tank cars.
As I wanted a Marx army locomotive but couldn't afford one I decided to paint up a spare 490 in army green. Above are my results. The locomotive required a little fixing as there was a crack in the pilot and a corner missing from the cab roof (on the side shown) that I had to fill and sand. I'm quite happy with the results and am now looking for more 490's to paint up.
