Tips and Tricks

This is a new addition to my page and all contributions are welcome.

Tip #1

Build your power supplies larger enough to run everything on your railway with room to spare. When I added a few extra accessories to my railway there was too much current draw on the lighting circuit and all the lights started flashing.

Tip #2

Keep a soft 1" paint brush handy this is great for dusting down you models. If you're like me and your railway is in your bedroom it is very dusty.

Tip #3

Lubricate your engines regularly. This will increase their pulling power and running life.

Tip #4

Don't forget to lubricate your rolling stock axles. This will increase your maximum train length.

Tip #5

Draw a wiring diagram when wiring up your layout. This helps finding faults.

Tip #6

Invest in a multimeter. (Multimeter Hints) This also helps in finding faults.
