Lionel TMCC

I got the Lionel Train Master Command Control (TMCC) to make the wiring of my layout simpler. It allows you to run multiple trains on the same track, make the crew in any Rail Sounds locomotive talk operate the couplers etc, anywhere on the track.

The system is very simple to set up you plug it into the wall run one wire to your outside rail put 18 volts on the track and you're away. The controls are easy to learn and will take less than half an hour or an adult to learn or about 5 minutes for any kid to pick up/

It is essential that you use a properly grounded outlet or the signal gets a bit confused. I did encounter a few problems with the low end speed of my locomotive and I e-mailed Lionel about it and the mains frequency below is their response:

50Hz does affect TMCC. TMCC was designed for 60Hz.

Thank you,
Lionel

So basically I spent this money to get the digital system they advertised and I get it and it is incompatible with the mains. Lionel has no wish to rectify this in any way and when I e-mailed and asked why they didn't advertise this and if there is a way around it this was their response:

There are converters that will convert 50Hz to 60Hz. Unfortunatly, we
have no info on them. We will forward your email to our marketing
department.

Thank you,
Lionel

If you're going to buy a digital system I can't reccomend Lionel TMCC. In fact I reccomend you don't buy it. I have decided to buy the MTH DCS system instead which can be run on 50Hz.
